ALLERGY INFORMATION OCTOBER 2010

GLUTEN: COMPOSITION OF FOODS  FOR CELIACS

PLEASE ALWAYS ENSURE THAT WE KNOW WHICH OF YOUR MENU CHOICES ARE FOR CELIACS. THIS ALLOWS US TO DOUBLE CHECK AND TO MINIMISE THE RISK OF CROSS CONTAMINATION.

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ON THE MENU WE BELIEVE ARE FREE FROM ANY ADDED GLUTEN CONTAINING INGREDIENTS. THEY ARE EITHER PURCHASED BECAUSE THERE IS NO GLUTEN DECLARATION ON THE PACKAGING OR HAVE BEEN ADAPTED AT THE COOKING STAGE TO TRY TO ENSURE THEY ARE GLUTEN FREE. SOME OF THE CHOICES OFFERED CAN BE AMENDED FROM THE MAIN MENU TO PROVIDE SUITABLE ALTERNATIVES.

IN PRACTICE THIS MEANS THAT AS LONG AS WE HAVE THE NECESSARY INGREDIENTS IN STOCK TO AMEND THE MENU ITEM OR THERE IS ENOUGH ADAPTED PRODUCT IN STOCK, THE FOLLOWING ITEMS SHOULD BE SUITABLE, ALTHOUGH IT MUST BE REMEMBERED THAT OUR KITCHEN IS NOT A MANUFACTURING PRODUCTION LINE AND THUS THERE IS ALWAYS THE POSSIBILITY OF CROSS CONTAMINATION. WE ALSO RELY ON INFORMATION SUPPLIED TO US FROM MANUFACTURERS AND INGREDIENT LABELS.

AS WITH ALL DECLARATIONS, WHILST WE HAVE MADE EVERY EFFORT TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITIES TO ENSURE ACCURACY, ANY ADVICE GIVEN IS WITHOUT PREJUDICE. ONLY YOU CAN DECIDE HOW SEVERE YOUR INTOLERANCE IS, AND THIS LIST THEREFORE IS DESIGNED TO BE A START POINT TO HELP YOU MAKE AN INFORMED CHOICE ABOUT WHAT WE HAVE TO OFFER. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT INGREDIENTS IN OUR FOOD PLEASE ASK AT THE BAR FOR FURTHER INFO. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT IF WE ARE VERY BUSY IT MAY BE DIFFICULT TO SEE TO YOUR NEEDS IN AS MUCH DETAIL AS WE WOULD LIKE AND WOULD ASK FOR YOUR PATIENCE.

THIS LIST IS VALID FROM OCTOBER 2010 AND WILL REMAIN VALID UNTIL THE MENU NEXT CHANGES. HOWEVER RECIPES MAY CHANGE, SO ALWAYS CHECK WITH OUR STAFF TO ENSURE THIS LIST IS CURRENT AND UP TO DATE.

PLEASE ALSO BE AWARE THAT THE PEOPLE WORKING WHEN YOU ARE IN, MAY NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A DISH, AND WHILST WE TRY TO MAKE LABELLING CLEAR AND COMMUNICATE WITH EACH OTHER, SOMETIMES THEIR KNOWLEDGE MAY BE LIMITED.

THANK YOU
